WORLD PASTY CHAMPIONSHIPS at the EDEN PROJECT Saturday 4th March 2017

Days out near Padstow Cornwall

If you visit Cornwall, the two things you must sample are Cornish Cream teas (jam first!) and a proper Cornish Pasty. In celebration of our most famous dish, the Eden Project will play host again this year to the World Pasty Championships, now in its 6th year.

There are nine categories to enter, including companies, professionals, amateur bakers and children. The categories are split into two sections: Cornish Pasties (made in Cornwall following a traditional recipe) and Open Savoury categories for pasties with creative fillings, or those from outside Cornwall. This is because the Cornish Pasty enjoys a special protected status (Protected Geographical Indication), and only pasty makers based in Cornwall who make pasties in a traditional manner and follow a traditional recipe can label their products as Cornish pasties.

The day will be full of celebrations of all things Cornish, with a brilliant line-up of live music and comedy throughout the day.

The event is free to attend (with Eden admission). To find out more please visit www.edenproject.com
